Ehren Vaughan

Ehren’s introduction to CrossFit came when he was working as a CPA at a public accounting practice in Boise, Idaho. During ‘tax season’ (which lasted for 3 ½ months) he worked upwards of 70 hours a week. Ehren says that “it took getting involved in CrossFit for me to really start to think about what spending such extended periods in front of a desk was doing to my body. At CrossFit I met heaps of people who were in similar situations to me. I met people who were sacrificing their health in an effort to make money. CrossFit made me re-evaluate my priorities. It made me realize that health should be a top priority for everyone and motivated me to get involved in the CrossFit industry.”

Ehren states that “after being involved in CrossFit for around 6 months I suddenly found myself, in my late twenties, stronger and in better shape than I had ever been in my life! This says a lot seeing there was a period of time where I was doing 5+ hours a day of on court tennis training and off court fitness. It was at this point that I really realized just how effective the CrossFit programming is.”

Ehren has a long background in tennis, coaching, weightlifting and fitness. He has been around athletes and coaches at the highest levels, in all sports, since he was first selected to represent a N.S.W. national championship tennis team at 10 years of age.

Andrew Fraser (Frase) is our resident Olympic Weightlifting guru. One of his current goals is to one day coach an Australian Olympic weightlifting representative. According to Frase he “started CrossFit in October 2009 after I had surgery on my elbow from injuries sustained over 16 years of senior rugby. I was looking to improve my fitness and subsequently found CrossFit at Newcastle. I was subjected to high level coaching and became very impressed, and noticed considerable lifestyle improvements in function and health. I lost over 20 kg and became stronger and faster. I see CrossFit as now an integral part of my life. I love coaching CrossFit to improve people for a better quality of life, through movement & diet.”
